NAK Error from PIN Pad

NAK Error From Pin Pad” and “Unsuccessful Obtaining SerialNo from PIN pad” errors occur between the client and card entry device. This means the device Negatively Acknowledged a command from the client or the client did not understand the response returned by the device. 


  1. Verify the latest version of the client control under “Client Controls”.
    • dsiEMVUS® (Credit & Debit)
    • dsiPDCX® (Gift & EBT)
    • DSIClientX® (Swipe/Non-EMV)

  2. Verify USB device drivers are installed properly. See instructions for installing Ingenico drivers here.

  3. Verify the com port you are specifying in your point of sale software is the com port of the PIN pad.
