Step 1

Install Client Control

In order to communicate with this NETePay, your POS may use one of the following ActiveX controls depending on the integration method chosen by the POS developer. If you are unsure of which to install please contact POS technical support.

  1. Support was added for the PAX A6650 device.

  2. PAX EMV Configurations for Credit with Preferred Debit is modified setting the contactless CVM limit to zero for all Debit AIDs. This will result in PAX devices prompting for an Online PIN for all contactless Debit transactions. 

  3. For all Ingenico devices, PIN Bypass is now disabled for contactless transactions for Amex, Mastercard and UnionPay. Bypassing the PIN causes a cryptogram validation error because of a change to the TVR. 

  4. For IDTech NEO2 devices (VP6800 and VP6300) the firmware version check is removed. Different models have different firmware versions.

  • The PAX unattended device, IM30, was recently certified for use with Worldpay Core NETePay. The IM30 will be available with the next release of dsiEMVUS.
  • Support for Level III data is added. Level II data must be sent when Level III is provided.
  • There are now two Merchant Category settings for eCommerce. The settings are:
    • eCommerce with Adjustment (Manual Batch Close)
    • eCommerce without Adjustment (Auto Batch Close)
  • NETePay generates a System Trace Audit Number (STAN) for each transaction that it sends to Worldpay. The value of the STAN is now returned by NETePay in a new XML response tag <SystemTraceAuditNo>. The next version of dsiEMVUS will pass this field back to the POS.

  • For the in-store NETePay, Vantiv tokens are now supported. This includes support for SalebyRecordNo and ReturnByRecordNo transactions. Previously, follow-up ByRecordNo transactions were supported using the retrieval reference number from the original transaction. This will still be the case if a merchant account does not have tokens enabled.
  • The EMVPreAuth transaction was added at this version.
  • The Vantiv Draft Locator field is supported. This field is sent on all transactions with the value of the InvoiceNo supplied by the POS. The Draft Locator is a maximum of 11 characters.
  • A new XML field is supported called MerchantDefinedData. An ISV can send up to 75 characters of data in this tag for any transaction and Vantiv will store for later reporting. The data is sent to Vantiv in the Customer Discretionary Data field. This field is unique to the Vantiv NETePay.
  • Support for the eCommerce merchant category is added at this version. This merchant category requires that the merchant close the batch, the same as the Restaurant merchant category.
  • Card On File support is added. The implementation is the same as Worldpay IP, TSYS and Heartland.
  • When running as a Multi-Merchant NETePay on Azure, this version supports SurchargeWithLookup. If a surcharge amount is supplied and the card BIN lookup indicates the card account is not a debit card, then the surcharge amount will be added to the purchase amount of the transaction. The value of the SurchargeWithLookup field in the response will indicate if a surcharge was included in the transaction. If this field is “0.00” then the surcharge was not included. SurchargeWithLookup is supported through the PC client controls. Support will be added to the next release of the Tran EMV client app for TranCloud.
  • When running as a MM on Azure, this version supports tokenized transactions using 3DS Apple Pay in-app tokens. This is the first NETePay certified for 3DS tokenized transactions.

  • An EMV card brand certification was completed for Ingenico Tetra devices. These include the Lane/3000, 5000, 7000 and 8000. It also includes the Move/3500, Move/5000 and Link/2500. The latest client controls (dsiPDCX and dsiEMVUS) support these devices with clear card data and with Ingenico TDES DUKPT card data encryption.
  • The EMV Support parameter now includes a choice for “Credit and Debit – Prefer Debit”. This feature pertains to Ingenico devices. If a card is inserted that includes a US Common Debit AID, that AID is preferred over any other AID on the card and is used for the transaction. The card would typically require a valid PIN for an approval.
  • Support is added for EMV Contactless transactions for Ingenico devices.
  • Support is added for China Union Pay EMV.

The Local Batch Reporting feature is enhanced to record information on declines and errors on a daily basis. The Local Batch Report Viewer now includes a new tab for Declines and Errors providing a way to view and print declines and errors. The information presented includes the time, the transaction status, the decline or error message, if the decline occurred when forwarding the transaction as part of store and forward, the card type, the transaction code, the account source, the purchase amount, the gratuity amount, the cash back amount, the invoice number, the reference number and the operator ID.

  • The following changes are made related to store and forward processing:
    • The SAF_ForwardAll operation will now recover if communication failures occur during the forwarding process. An error will be returned along with the number of transactions that have completed forwarding. A subsequent SAF_ForwardAll will pick up where the previous one left off.
    • If there are no transactions to forward, a SAF_ForwardAll operation will now return SUCCESS along with zero totals.
    • The SAF Totals now include a count of Uncaptured PreAuth requests. All PreAuth transactions should be captured prior to forwarding stored transactions. There is no way to be paid for a forwarded PreAuth that was not captured.
    • There is a purchase amount limit parameter set on PSCS and a purchase limit sent in from the POS. The smaller of the two is compared to the transaction purchase amount. If the transaction purchase amount is less than or equal to the smaller of the two limits, then the transaction can possibly be stored offline. Otherwise, the transaction will go online.
    • There is a maximum stored transaction limit set on PSCS and a stored transaction limit sent in from the POS. The smaller of the two is compared with the current number of stored transactions. If the addition of one more transaction would keep the number of stored transaction under or equal to the smaller of the two limits, then the transaction can possibly be stored offline. Otherwise, the transaction will go online.

  • A new “EMV Cardholder Verification” parameter is added to this NETePay where the choices are “All CVMs”, “Signature” or “None”. “All CVMs” is the default on PSCS and includes Online PIN, Offline PIN, Signature and No CVM. This setting in NETePay determines the “EMV Terminal Capabilities” setting stored in the PIN pad during an EMV Param Download operation. If this parameter is changed in NETePay, then an EMV Param Download should be run at each workstation where a PIN pad is attached.
  • Support for Smart Updates which allows NETePay to be automatically updated to its versions most currently build.
  • Support for being run as a service. Please review this NETePay’s userguide for details on configuring this feature.
  • Change made to “POS entry capability code” used on EMVReturn transactions to correct an issue which resulted in “SYSTEM ERROR – CALL 239” response from Vantiv.
