Store and Forward

A type of data transmission that sends information to a central server, reaching its intended destination once the recipient is identified electronically. This relay system is common with emails, wire transfers and text messages for telecommunication service networks.

EMV Store and Forward refers to a feature that involves capturing the necessary transaction data and storing that data temporarily (usually in the event of an internet outage) until the data can be passed along to the processor once the internet service is restored.
