For several years now browsers and operating systems have been in the process of orderly revoking trust for Symantec issued SSL certificates due to compliance issues.
The hosts employed by Heartland and Alliance Data NETePay used certificates issued by Symantec that were due to expire in May 2020. When these certificates were updated by Heartland, the new certificates had a more recent “valid from date” which triggered modern versions of windows to reject them.
Current versions of NETePay for Alliance Data (v5.06.10) and Heartland Exchange (v5.07.20) have been updated to use a new URL that presents certificates signed by Entrust which are trusted by versions of Windows currently supported by Microsoft.
Merchants using the Alliance Data and Heartland Exchange NETePay versions mentioned above will need to upgrade.
