To meet PCI requirements for 24-hour memory reinitialization, all PAX terminals are designed to automatically reboot every 24 hours. While this behavior cannot be disabled, you can configure when the reboot occurs to minimize business disruption.
Reboot Configuration Options
1. Restart After 24 Hours
- The terminal reboots automatically 24 hours after it was last powered on.
- If powered on during business hours (e.g., after a power outage), the terminal will reboot at that time daily, potentially disrupting operations.
2. Scheduled Restart
- The terminal reboots at a fixed, user-defined time each day.
- Default time: 4:00 AM
- Ensure that the terminal’s system time and time zone are correct to ensure accurate scheduling.
Scheduled Restart Option 1: Configure Reboot on the Device
1 Confirm that PayLoader v2.1.23C or later is installed. Contact Datacap Support if you need assistance.
2 From the Welcome screen, swipe up from the bottom and tap the arrow twice to access the Android Desktop. From the Android Desktop, go to Settings > System > Date & Time. Use the password, "pax9876@@" to access both the Android Desktop and Settings.

3 Confirm or adjust your time and time zone.
4 Set a Scheduled Reboot Time. Navigate to Settings > Security > Scheduled Reboot Time. If this setting is not shown, you will need an OS Update. Please contact Datacap Support to assist.

5 Toggle the setting to ON.

6 Select your preferred reboot time (default is 4:00 AM)
