Chalfont, PA – To address additional and broader sales opportunities, FSA/HSA transaction support has been added to Mercury Pay NETePay. POS resellers targeting locations accepting FSA/HSA (Flexible Spending Account / Health Savings Account) payments can now provide FSA support through their integrated payment solution, in addition to the other payment types already supported. Qualified FSA purchases can be authorized by the Mercury Pay host. Non-qualified items and amounts not covered by current FSA balances can still be processed using other payment types. Mercury Pay and Datacap collaborated to support FSA transactions so resellers will be able to offer FSA support before the January 1, 2009 deadline, at which time retail locations accepting FSA payments must have an automated system implemented.

To support FSA transactions, POS software providers also need to provide FSA item eligibility management and support specific FSA payment transactions and rules. Also, retailers need to manage item FSA eligibility. FSA support will also be added to other Datacap products as is appropriate.
